George Barbari

Born to a Lebanese father and Argentinian mother in Orange County, California. George Peter Barbari grew up in Batroun, a small town on the shores of North Lebanon. He is a writer, director and editor. In 2014, he made his first short a film “a Time in a Life” which was shown in festivals around the world and garnered several awards.

From 2015 to 2017, he founded and carried out the “Not Your Average Photographer initiative”; teaching photography to intellectually and physically challenged individuals over a period of 18 months. The culmination of two years’ work manifested in the form of an exhibition of photographs titled A Different Perspective, presented at Gallerie Tanit in Beirut in April, 2017. Concurrently, Lebanese publishing house Tamyras printed a photography book by the same name.

He is currently in the preproduction process of his first feature film.
